Going Mental

Dance Without Limits Posted on May 30, 2020 by Dana Ben-YehudaMay 30, 2020

I was trying to mentally go through my routines the other day.   I’ve been dancing them on occasion in my “dirt studio,” but I can’t move freely or fully other than super slow motion, and dancing in sneakers … Continue reading →

Not to Do – Create Poise – and Dance

Dance Without Limits Posted on June 29, 2019 by Dana Ben-YehudaJune 29, 2019

Today’s lesson was about creating my poise before moving And then leaving it be – not interfering with it. Not adding Not taking away from it Not to do. As an Alexander Technique specialist, that translates to having one’s posture … Continue reading →

Thought for the Day: Soft Neck, Long Neck

Dance Without Limits Posted on June 22, 2019 by Dana Ben-YehudaJune 22, 2019

Today’s idea came from a lesson that I taught to a Latin dancer. I’m going to drop in the same thought I gave to her:  to let my neck be soft and long. l want to drop it in as … Continue reading →

Improve Your Dancing – Change Your Movement

Dance Without Limits Posted on June 22, 2019 by Dana Ben-YehudaJune 22, 2019

A wise coach said, “If you want to improve your dancing, change your movement.” Those words went straight in and resonated with me. I decided to make that attempt and have been spending endless hours trying to do exactly that. … Continue reading →

Dancing with Grief, Dancing with Love

Dance Without Limits Posted on May 19, 2019 by Dana Ben-YehudaMay 19, 2019

I am having trouble getting myself to dance with my whole Self these days. A friend chided me and also poked a little fun at me, saying he can’t believe an Alexander teacher would have her head down, “is that … Continue reading →

Dancing in the Light

Dance Without Limits Posted on July 27, 2018 by Dana Ben-YehudaJuly 28, 2018

This morning, I meditated on Light. I used a guided audio from my friend, Anita Caselina

and in this meditation I FEEL and SEE myself filled with light.

I am a vessel of Light

I am a channel for the Light.

When I dance, I also connect to the Light.

This is what I feel in my heart when I dance.

I feel the light shining through me

That is my purpose and on Earth in this lifetime.

To be a shining star

And to let others know they are shining stars, too.

A star is a vessel and channel of Light

Connecting with others through the Light that connects us all.

I hope you also do whatever makes you feel connected to the Light.

Whether that’s dancing or painting or music – or math!
