Seven Tips for Lightness and Ease – Day Seven!
Hello my friends,
I like feeling a sense of expansion rather than compression. Here’s something that works for me.
Your body takes up a certain amount of space. Here’s a thought-experiment to expand your awareness to include the space around you. Try it and see what happens!
How much space is there between you and the wall in front of you, if you’re indoors?
Notice the space between you and the next building or tree, if you’re outside.
How much space is there between your head and the ceiling?
Your head and the sky?
How much space is there behind you, till you reach a wall, or a street, or someone else’s office?
Stand a moment and notice the space outside yourself.
Forward, back, above.
And breathe.
How do you feel?
Sometimes people notice a sense of lightness…or have less tension…or feel taller.
What do you notice?
Try taking that sense into movement, whether it’s dance or just walking around. What do you notice?
