Find Your Balance
Here’s a story from last week’s Body Dynamics class.
Last week, a dancer came to class to work on her “attitude spins” in W. Coast Swing.
She could do them, but was working with excess muscular effort to spin and balance.
We learned about the anatomy of her head, neck and spine
Did special warm-ups
Learned to find her head weight – and how to use it in the turn
A special way to stabilize the body
And how to release tension
By the end of class her balance was better; she was spinning without effort.
Sheri* said she felt much lighter. She had less tension, she was stable in the spin and had a lot of fun!
